    Mark August 16 on your calendar – run a race and experience the summer magic of Vasaloppet

    Saturday, August 16, 2025 – write it in your planner and mark it in your mental calendar. That’s the day of the big annual running event in the Vasaloppet Arena, when the four races – Ultravasan 90, Ultravasan 45, Trailvasan 30, and Vasastafetten – take place. The excitement starts the day before with Funkisvasan, Barnens Vasalopp Löpning, and Trailvasan 10. So far, over 3,400 runners have signed up, including an impressive 1,300 for Ultravasan 90. Vasastafetten, which is now a recreational relay without competitive elements, currently has 121 registered teams.

    Another Winter Week has crossed the finish line. The weather conditions occasionally caused challenges for both participants and organizers, but thanks to hard work and determination from both skiers and functionaries, 44,000 participants managed to pass the iconic finish line in Mora.     Alvar Myhlback and Stina Nilsson won Vasaloppet 2025

    Sporting history was made in the Vasaloppet Arena today. Eighteen-year-old Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team, became the youngest Vasaloppet winner in history after a thrilling sprint finish. World and Olympic champion Stina Nilsson, Team Ragde Charge, competed in her first Vasaloppet and dominated the women’s race. A Dalarna man from Bjursås and a Dalarna woman from Malung took home the victories – receiving a winner’s wreath from a Kranskulla from Sälen and a Kransmas from Mora.

    Major efforts in the Vasaloppet Arena

    Due to the quick weather changes with above-freezing temperatures over the past week, parts of the Vasaloppet Arena are currently very wet. The problems are most severe at the starting point in Sälen and along parts of the Sälen – Mångsbodarna stretch, especially around the first checkpoint in Smågan, where water is seeping up from the marshes and streams are overflowing. Intensive work is now underway to divert water and secure the snow supply for the weekend's races.

    Jenny Larsson won Tjejvasan 2025

    Jenny Larsson, Lager 157 Ski Team, won Tjejvasan – the world’s largest ski race exclusively for women – ahead of Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, and Julie Kvale Støstad, Team Ramudden. The junior class was won by Alva Hedström from Funäsdalens IF, with Anna Aukland from Norway in second place and Ines Lignell from Lucksta IF in third.
