Mark August 16 on your calendar – run a race and experience the summer magic of Vasaloppet
Saturday, August 16, 2025 – write it in your planner and mark it in your mental calendar. That’s the day of the big annual running event in the Vasaloppet Arena, when the four races – Ultravasan 90, Ultravasan 45, Trailvasan 30, and Vasastafetten – take place. The excitement starts the day before with Funkisvasan, Barnens Vasalopp Löpning, and Trailvasan 10. So far, over 3,400 runners have signed up, including an impressive 1,300 for Ultravasan 90. Vasastafetten, which is now a recreational relay without competitive elements, currently has 121 registered teams.
Running in the Vasaloppet Arena is nothing new. Vasastafetten was first held in 1991, and the individual races were introduced in 2014. You’re very welcome to this unforgettable running event where history, nature, and challenge come together. Whether you’re an experienced runner or a beginner, we have something for you. And the best part? You still have nearly six months to train!
”It’s fantastic to see so many people choosing to participate in Vasaloppet’s different running races. We’ve created a platform where both beginners and experienced runners can come together and enjoy the unique atmosphere that Vasaloppet offers. Seeing the growing interest and enthusiasm truly warms our hearts. We’re especially happy to see so many women taking part in our running events. This year, 40% of registered participants are women, and in Ultravasan 90, women now make up 29% of the field. It’s amazing to see this strong representation, with more and more women challenging themselves on our historic course. I think Margit Nordin would have loved this,” says Vasaloppet’s Sport Lead, Tommy Höglund.
Here’s the full lineup of races you can choose from Funkisvasan (4 km), a running race designed for people with disabilities: Move at your own pace – walk, run, or roll over the iconic finish line in Mora. A welcoming experience for all participants.
