Take part in Vasaloppet for youngsters! Be there when the best Nordic cyclists aged 11 to 16 compete for the gold in Ungdomscykelvasan. The race starts in Oxberg and runs along 28,9 km of forest road/gravel and 3,1 km of asphalt before reaching the Mora finish line. The track is not technically advanced but the stretch is long and the pace high. Train well and remember: There can only be one winner!
Rules
The race is sanctioned by Svenska Cykelförbundet (SCF, the Swedish Cycling Federation), and run in accordance with SCF’s regulations. Read the rules in their entirety at SCF’s website.
Violation of rule 1.3.008 in TR 1 leads to disqualification.
Equipment
It is mandatory to wear an approved cycling helmet. The helmet must be worn throughout the entire race, as well as when cycling in the start area and between the finish area and the shower facilities.
The track is technically quite light, suitable for all bikes that can handle a gravel road.
Due to the risk of injury we do not allow cycling with:
- earphones, for example with music
- bottles that are not suited for the bottle holder
- tow bike, electric bike, unicycle, child seat or bike trailer
- bike with drop handlebars.
Tandem bikes are allowed.
Traffic
Swedish traffic regulations apply whenever there is other traffic.

Minimum age
You may participate in the race from the year you turn 11 up to the year you turn 16.
Time penalty for littering in the Vasaloppet Arena
It is allowed to throw garbage in three different ways during Vasaloppet’s Summer Week. If you will be caught by throwing debris otherwise you may be penalized with a time penalty of 15 minutes.
You must throw litter:
- in the bins at the Vasaloppet checkpoints.
- in the marked littering zones between each Vasaloppet checkpoint.
- where you as a participant know that a team leader or associate will pick up what you throw.
